Finally, a Student Union and Dining Hall will feed over 800 students daily and serve as a community hub for our campus community. In addition, we will maintain the natural charm of our school by preserving outdoor spaces and greenery.

“There is a lot of buzz lately, and students and teachers are talking about the new dining hall. I’m excited to see what the meals are! It will also open opportunities for the school to host events and make it easier to serve or cater events.” – Max Walsh `28

BOUNDLESS EDUCATION

Education at The Benjamin School has always been about more than just academics — it’s about nurturing the whole student. With the capital raised, we aim to enhance our curriculum and programs in all divisions.

SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE

SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE

$15,000,000 Endowment

Endowment is Benjamin’s savings account. Endowed gifts are part of the school’s donated pool of invested money where the principal is left untouched so it can achieve long-term growth. The return from those investments can be used to fund Benjamin’s operations, pay for special programming, or grow the endowment principal. The bigger the endowment, the more Benjamin can earn on annual distributions. Independent schools with the strongest endowments set the standards of educational excellence, push the frontiers of innovation, and sustain greatness over generations. Making a gift to endowment is an investment in Benjamin’s future.

To ensure long-term financial sustainability and greater accessibility, school leadership is committed to growing the endowment. Additional unrestricted and restricted funds will directly and indirectly benefit students, faculty, programming, and facilities by supporting the annual operating budget and reducing reliance on tuition. The Benjamin School is seeking $15 million in targeted endowment support for three key areas: faculty and programmatic excellence, financial aid, and unrestricted funds.

FACULTY & PROGRAMMATIC EXCELLENCE ENDOWMENT

FACULTY & PROGRAMMATIC EXCELLENCE ENDOWMENT

$5,000,000

The Benjamin School faculty consists of exceptional and dedicated teachers who are Benjamin’s most significant asset in educating our students to be leaders throughout their lives. In the 2024-2025 school year, TBS allocated 51% of its operating budget to faculty and staff salaries and benefits.

An endowed fund for faculty excellence will help attract and retain talented educators while providing school leadership with greater flexibility in allocating operating resources. Your investment in this endowment would help offset inflationary increases in salaries, provide one-time bonuses, defray escalating housing costs for teachers, and help us provide world-class continuing education for our faculty.

If you have a specific educational area or a teacher you are passionate about, endowing faculty chairs establishes a continuing legacy for donors, while sending a strong message of support regarding those responsible for instructing, counseling, and coaching our students.

Lastly, if there’s a specific subject area in our curriculum that interests you, programmatic endowments are a powerful way to ensure the exemplary educational programs at Benjamin continue to thrive.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT

$5,000,000

One of the goals outlined in the strategic plan focuses on enrolling well-rounded students from diverse backgrounds with the academic and leadership potential to thrive in the Benjamin community and beyond. Donors who give to this important fund are helping qualified students receive full or partial financial aid and necessary ancillary items to participate in the Benjamin community.

  • Free or reduced lunches
  • Gift card for uniforms
  • Free Chromebook or Ipad (grade-level dependent)
  • Free AP testing
  • Half-price prom tickets
  • Half-price shuttle bus between campuses
  • Free online book codes (upper school)

By investing in this endowment, you are directly impacting the life of a child who may not otherwise be able to attend the school while helping to promote a diverse and inclusive community at TBS.

Unrestricted Endowment

Unrestricted Endowment

$5,000,000

Unrestricted funds provide critical support to the school with the flexibility to be directed to the area of greatest need. Increasing the unrestricted endowment takes pressure off the annual operating budget while providing funds necessary to respond to unforeseen challenges.
